Multi-Check Scarf

This Multi Check Scarf features White Shetland, Black Hebridean and a pale grey mix, along with small quantities of Shetland Moorit and just a little pink and green dyed yarns.  It was designed by David largely with the aim of putting together a six-colour pattern.  With eight available shuttle boxes on a Dobcross Loom, using six different colours in a symmetrical check is a satisfying challenge for the weaver but the end result is a pleasing and very classic scarf.  Writing shuttle sequences can create an interesting conundrum with certain rules being vital to the smooth operation of the machine.  David applied these rules in a way that resulted in both a bold multi-check pattern and a satisfying mechanical process.

Brushed for a soft finish, these scarves have a timeless appeal.
