The Winter`s End blanket was designed and woven early in 2020 in anticipation of winter drawing to a close (usually about April in these parts!). The three panels in a brown Moorit and Hebridean blend, a grey Shetland and Zwartbles mix and a light grey mix act as the background for subtle stripes of randomly arranged, naturally dyed yarns from our range (including woad, crotal, weld, madder root .. and more).
These three panels represent the gradual lightening of land and sky as we move from the dark of January through to March and April where our weather dictates what we plant and whether we are indoors or outdoors. The dashes of colour give a sense of hope for spring and summer, growth and renewal.
The result, though, is a warm and cosy blanket, equally at home as a throw on our garden benches in Spring and Summer, or our sofas (depending on the weather), as on our beds in Autumn and Winter.
Brushed Finish. 150cm wide x 185cm long (including fringes)
